THE NEED: ACQUISITION

The release of the new HBO NOW product was highly confidential, with content evolving at every moment, it required our team to stay on beat. HBO wanted to acquire a new client base that they had yet to tap into, in order to stay relevant in today digital streaming market.

We utilized the ever-evolving platforms of digital advertising, social media, and online video production to achieve the client’s goals.

THE STRATEGY

Utilize social media to directly target focus ads to the relevant consumer market. Demonstrate depth and breadth of the HBO library, and how readily available it is for consumers on HBO NOW.

The key factors: A massive collection of award-winning content. The Flexibility of the HBO NOW platforms on any device at any moment. Accessibility to all their new favorite shows with no tv-package.

THE CLIENT LOVES IT

The client was extremely appreciative of our hard work and dedication to their product campaign. Our hard efforts increased new client acquisition, with the opportunity for client retention. The challenging aspect of this campaign was the elegant design level it required in such a fast turnaround.

The creative conveyed simplicity through a straightforward approach to content and information layout while utilizing multiple key arts from both Television and Theatrical. This being a technical advancement to the HBO brand it had to be handled delicately simple.

THE NEED: RETENTION

The HBO NOW digital streaming app required a long-lasting, and simple retention campaign. The focus was to retain all new subscribers with award-winning shows, spanning the history of the HBO brand. Showcasing depth and breadth was extremely pivotal to viewer retention.

The digital, social campaign focused on giving a 1-month free membership and exposing users to HBO's massive collection of award-winning content.

THE STRATEGY

In conjunction with HBO NOW in-platform video promos, we created social video content that targeted the existing viewership. The rationale is to strategically release videos before, or after a viewer watching a hard-hitting show. This exposes the user to HBO content relevant to what they are watching.

The key factors: Revitalize HBO's past hard-hitting shows to retain new subscribers, and keep them committed to the brand past their 1-month free trial.

THE CLIENT LOVES IT

HBO is truly grateful to us for working diligently on both Retention and Acquisition. The appreciation is shown by the amazing added opportunities to creatively manage some of their latest shows. Vice Principals, Vice News, and Insecure to name a few.

The retention campaign, although fun, is also very much challenging. The speed in which we needed to generate original video content leads us to develop a new process to keep creative, and production moving forward quickly, and efficiently. The client truly appreciated our efforts and hard work.
